- This information-only PIN relates to the following three safety systems: •Reversing Detection (RD) •Blind Side Information Systems (BSIS) •Moving Off Information Systems (MOIS) These systems will be mandated in the M400 and M500 contracts and for all HGVs operating on the MetroLink programme. Due to the time required for retrofitting, the M100 contract will mandate “appropriate mitigations” including as a minimum, “in-cab spotters/drivers assistant”. Information is available at the following sources to assist HGV owners and operators in planning, funding and implementing the required retro-fitting: •The Greener HGV Programme; •Green Transport Fund/Zero Emission Heavy Duty Vehicle (ZEHDV); and •European Funding (via Member States) oConnecting Europe Funding (Implied) oEuropean Regional Development Fund (Implied) EU Regulation 2019/2144, the General Safety Regulation (GSR), sets mandatory standards for vehicle safety by requiring new vehicles to have advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS) and meet specific performance criteria. From 2024 all new HGV (N2/N3) must have the following fitted as standard: •Intelligent Speed Assistance •Blind Spot Information System •Advanced Emergency Breaking System •Reversing Detection •Moving Off Information System •Tyre Pressure Monitoring System •Alcohol Interlock Installation Facilitation •Driver Drowsiness and Attention Warning
