Description:
The Birds Unit, of the Scientific Advice and Research Directorate of the National Parks and Wildlife Service (NPWS) intends to invite submissions from companies/organisations and sole traders with relevant expertise and capability to establish a multi-supplier framework agreement for the delivery and provision of a variety of bird surveys, monitoring, and research/guidance to inform bird conservation. It is anticipated this framework agreement will last for a period of four years. The services required will include but not be limited to: •Designing and undertaking bird surveys or bird monitoring programmes at a variety of scales, from localised site level to national level; •The coordination and delivery of surveys or monitoring programmes, with surveys undertaken by the contractor-s professional field staff, NPWS staff, and/or skilled volunteers; •The design and delivery of specialised bird surveys or sampling strategies (e.g. using drones, thermal imagers, stratified sampling techniques, deployment of GPS-tracking telemetry devices, conservation/detection dogs, etc.); •Desk- and/or field-based studies to include some or all of the following aspects: the design of surveys, monitoring programmes or research projects; collection of pilot data; undertaking of detailed data analyses (including but not limited to data from telemetry devices, population modelling, etc.); the provision of reviews/recommendations/guidance based on scientific evidence and international best practice...
