• The HSE wishes to engage with the market by inviting companies to submit a concise submission describing their capabilities in regard to this requirement, using the Market Consultation document provided. The HSE is undertaking a strategic initiative to strengthen catalogue and item knowledge management capabilities to support procurement, supply chain efficiency, clinical operations, and regulatory compliance across the Irish health sector. Over the past 9 months, item master data within the scope of IFMS expanded from 80,000 items to over 148,000 items, reflecting a rapidly growing scope of detailed itemisation of goods and services purchased and consumed. Comparable EU health organisations (e.g., NHS Supply Chain) typically maintain catalogues of 600,000 items supported by product hierarchies, detailed catalogue structures, robust descriptions, characteristics, and control tags (e.g., Sustainability, MDR compliance, latex-free).
