- Cork University Maternity Hospital (CUMH) has been chosen as the national launch site for publicly funded and publicly provided complex Assisted Human Reproduction (AHR) services. The new facility will be located off-site, at the Lee Road Clinic, just outside Cork city. The total investment is in the order of €3M. The facility will comprise of a mix of specialist laboratories, procedure rooms and storage areas combined with general administrative and clinical support space: 1.Procedure rooms 2.Andrology Laboratory & semen collection/men-s rooms 3.Grade D Embryology Laboratory 4.Liquid Nitrogen Cryopreservation and storage area 5.Reception and administrative space 6.Patient counselling rooms 7.Patient scanning rooms 8.Patient recovery area (post-procedure) 9.AHR Support labs and storage 10.Welfare Facilities 11.Clean utilities including tri-gases The expected total internal footprint is: “Clean” connected spaces (items 1 - 4)ca 175 m2 AHR Support space (items 5 - 11) ca 200 m2 This facility falls under the umbrella of Tissue Establishments (TEs) and therefore, it is necessary that the selected supplier complies with relevant EUTCD statutory, and EDQM and ESHRE regulatory guidance and comply with the new GMP Annex 1 from design through to installation and commissioning of the purchased equipment and will install it within the spatial constraint of the lab.
