- The Newtown Road Phase 2 (Racecourse to Hospital Junction) and Phase 3 (Hospital Junction to Bayview) Scheme consists of the following: -- Reallocation of the existing road, narrowing carriageway to provide the following: --A 2.0m (narrows in width in sections) wide raised cycletrack on both sides of the road; -- Widening/overlay/modification of the existing footpath -- Raised crossings on the side roads -- Bus shelters and/or bus bays at suitable locations -- Controlled and uncontrolled crossing facilities -- Raised entry treatment crossings at the junctions -- New surface water connections to the existing drainage system will be provided -- Relocation of existing public lighting columns -- Utility and other services will be provided/protected/relocated/diverted -- New road lining, signage, hard and soft landscaping, boundary treatments (accommodation works) etc. will be provided -- Other works associated with the above will also be undertaken.
